Here’s some more hardcore-adjacent content creator drama for ya. I don’t wanna keep doing this, but Finn’s pre-Punk Rock MBA work for MetalSucks and StuffYouWillHate was incredibly influential on my music writing in the mid 2010’s.
I’m not caping up for the dude. Frankly I think he’s a cornball. That said, Finn’s inflammatory remarks about his relationship to music as a pre-eminent rock and metal YouTuber have exploded across the internet. In my initial curiosity and subsequent inability to look away from the trainwreck, I’ve yet to see an opinion from anyone who followed Finn before he became a Twitch tier-list merchant and habitual Wikipedia plagiarizer.
As someone who witnessed the primordial, pre-clickbait version of PRMBA, it’s clear to me that Finn’s final salvo to the content creation world is just him doing what he does best — rage-bait. I’m not here to psychoanalyze the dude or shoot him bail, although I suppose I do both over the course of this 30-minute podcast. Really, I just wanna play the fiddle while Rome burns.
