Meditation clears the mind
Meditation clears the mind. Breathe in. Focus. Breathe out. Push the panic away. Pull in a peaceful moment.
End your night with this routine. Try to do something similar in the day. Wake up before nine. Take the dog for a piss. Try to eat before ten. Take your pills and your B12 supplement. Unpack a moving box. Try to figure out where everything fits. There’s more stuff than space, but as long as we can sit in the seats and cook on the counters we should be fine. Breathe out stress, breathe in compassion.
Try to write an hour a day, every day. Do that for a month and see how it goes. Finding work is tough but there’s plenty to go around. It’s a job seekers market. Keep seeking. Organize the counter. Throw out the trash. Empty the bag into the hallway chute when it gets full. Being an adult is hard work but it’s not rocket science. Thank god for that.
The days somehow keep getting longer. The air outside is thick and hot. Inside it’s stale and cool. Try and touch some grass. Be mindful. Feel the pulse of the city; hear the traffic, see the faces, smell the thick, hot air. Let it touch your tongue and face. Breathe in mindfulness. Breathe out the restless feeling.
Clean off a seat and sit down for dinner. The sun is in the sky even after the plates are cleared. Let the lights grow dim and your heart grow full. Sit by the lamp and read a chapter from a book. Taste onions and garlic on the back of your tongue. Relax. Touch skin to skin and fingers to hair. Talk about the complexities of nothing. Be in love. Get serious for a moment and then lose yourself in space. Realize it’s getting late. End your night with a meditation. Breathe in. Breathe out. Sleep.
